SEPTEMBER 2026 PRIMARY SCHOOL ADMISSIONS

Applications for a primary (reception) school place starting September 2026 can be made between 10 November 2025 and 15 January 2026. The school is offering tours throughout November, please call 01621 853519 to book a place.

If you have a child due to start school in September 2026 you must submit your application to Essex County Council by THURSDAY 15 JANUARY 2026.  You must apply through the local authority, Essex County Council, and not directly to the school.

All Saints' Church of England Primary School in Maldon has a standard admissions process for primary schools in the area, where priority is given to children who are looked after, those with a sibling already at the school, and then children living in the priority admission area. If there is still a tie-breaker needed, priority is given to those living closest to the school. You must apply through the local authority, Essex County Council, and not directly to the school.

Priority admission criteria

  • Looked After Children and previously looked after children.

  • Children with a sibling already attending the school.

  • Children living in the priority admission area.

  • Remaining applications, with priority given to those living closest to the school.

How to apply

  • You must apply through the Essex County Council website: https://www.essex.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/schools/admissions/primary-school-places by THURSDAY 15 JANUARY 2026

  • For a full-time place in the Reception year, children must be 4 years old by the start of the academic year.

  • In-year applications (for children not starting in Reception) must also be made through the local authority.

Important notes

  • There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area.

  • You can request a later start date for your child than the standard September entry.

  • The school is a Church of England school and welcomes families of all faiths and none, though it is important to be supportive of the school's aims and ethos.

  • Late applications: Applications received after January 15, 2026, will significantly reduce your chances of getting a place at your preferred schools.

Key dates and deadlines

  • Application period: November 10, 2025, to January 15, 2026
  • National closing date: January 15, 2026 (applications after this date are considered late)
